• How does the “Complimentary Room” model work?

  When partner hotels have unsold rooms, they offer their availability on the app on a complimentary basis. In return, you commit to meeting a set minimum spend at the venue - whether on dining, drinks, spa treatments, or featured hotel amenities.

• Is the minimum spend per person, per couple, or per booking?

  The minimum spend is per room booking. The total spend required covers all guests sharing the room. For example, if a hotel sets a £200 minimum spend, that is the total required across your entire bill for the stay, not an individual charge per person.

• What counts towards my minimum spend?

  Anything charged directly to your room bill at the venue typically counts. Depending on the individual hotel's listing, this includes:

  • Food & Beverage: Dinner, lunch, bar drinks, and room service.
  • Wellness & Leisure: Spa treatments, golf bookings, and curated guest experiences.
  • Breakfast: If eaten on-site and charged to your room bill.

  Note: Each hotel clearly outlines its featured amenities on its app listing prior to booking.

• What happens if I don’t reach the minimum spend during my stay?

  When you check out, the hotel calculates your final folio. If your total spend falls short of the agreed minimum spend, the hotel will simply charge the remaining balance difference directly to your card upon departure.

• Are service charges or tips included in the minimum spend?

  Discretionary service charges and staff tips go directly to the venue's team and generally do not count towards fulfilling your minimum spend threshold. Your spend is calculated based on net food, drink, spa, and amenity charges before discretionary service fees.

• How far in advance can I book?

  NightPorter is designed primarily around spontaneous travel and short-term window bookings. Availability is released anywhere from same-day (tonight's availability) up to a few days in advance, depending on when partner hotels release their unallocated rooms.

• Can I set alerts for specific hotels or dates?

  Yes! If you have a favourite boutique hotel or a specific weekend in mind, you can set custom push notifications in the NightPorter app. You will be alerted the moment a room opens up for your preferred location or date.

• Are there any hidden platform fees?

  No hidden surprises. NightPorter charges a simple 5% booking fee based on the hotel's minimum spend threshold (processed in-app at the time of reservation). There are no subscription fees or mandatory membership dues to download the app and browse.

• What room category will I receive?

  You will receive a standard double room or higher, depending on what the partner hotel releases into the NightPorter network. Specific room categories and bed setups are detailed directly on the room card in the app before you confirm.

• What is the check-in and check-out process?

  Your stay functions exactly like a standard luxury reservation. Upon arrival, present your booking confirmation in the app at reception. You will register a payment card with the front desk for incidental room charges as normal, and settle your final food, drink, or spa bill at check-out.
